![]() ![]() I'm not sure what you are using and would suggest you update your profile with that detail so that it appears on your profile. ![]() I can see from your Thingiverse posts that you have had some success. I have made hundreds of designs with TC and hardly ever experienced problems with printing on my Creality printer. They print and work as expect but I sure would like to know the proper way to be drawing them. Here are examples of some of the parts I have created. Sure would be nice if I could find more info or better yet videos on the subject. The problem is I am trying to learn this as I have not seen anyone sharing anything about creating 3D parts using TurboCAD. I have been creating a lot of different 3D printed parts with some success while learning as I go. that way TC will blend the two when Boolean added, and thus no corners. I'd recommend extending the top shape into the bottom cylinder, rather that have a single, mid way cut off point. Unfortunately, now everything is added / subtracted, blending in the corners will be fiddly. Quote from: Andy H on October 25, 2022, 03:06:09 PMYour new model is certainly a vast improvement on the original stl file. I am trying now to figure out how to smooth out the 4 corners that stick out about midway up the part. I have included a new drawing which has construction lines in it but if you save it as a stl you will see the results so far. I took the advice above and slid the slider to 100 in the ACIS window and now I am redrawing the part and so far it is coming out nice. are just what I used to cut out the shape. I couldn't tell from the stl what shape it actually should be. Its a simple fact that sometimes one imports a model, and its only use, is to give one a starting point for a redraw.Īttached is the 2020 tcw file so you can see the model. and the cura image attached shows the difference in the Slicer. Your original stl file is beyond repair as far as smoothing it out in TC. You can zip it and upload the zip file, or to some cloud system and share a link to it ![]() stl file so what format should I use to upload the file so you can see it before I tweaked it and got all the open areas.
